We sold too many January ewe lambs this year so we decided to substitute this February ewe lamb instead. She is sired by WWSF 20-44 “Scratcher”, a full brother to WWSF 19-1544 “Scratch” undefeated 2019 January ram lamb. Her dam is a first time lamber, Midwest Oxfords 1901 from the long successful Midwest Oxfords flock we acquired in 2019.  She is just a different style than our other entry.

At least a few farm visitors think this is our best February ewe lamb. You decide! She is sired by fall born Apple 20-7 “Pressed into Action”, a WWSF 18-13321A “Pressure” son. This stud ram was a pleasant surprise but his genetics are superb. His dam is a “Main Attraction” granddaughter (DOA “Main Event” great-granddaughter) who was our lead show flock female in 2011 as a ewe lamb and 2012 as a yearling ewe. Lot 313’s dam is another first time lamber, Midwest Oxfords 1902 from the long successful Midwest Oxfords flock we acquired in 2019. You can’t get better genetic lines than that!

He has already produced the Reserve Champion Ram at this year’s Ohio Showcase Sale who sold to Misty Meadows Oxfords, NH. Her dam is a line bred WWSF “Gus” son on “Gus” daughter dammed by our Reid Family Oxfords 9048 ewe, 2010 Champion Oxford Ewe at the Ohio Oxford Showcase Sale. This ewe lamb is a quadruplet raised as a twin and has the genetic potential to keep going.

2015 National Show & Sale

June 19-20, 2015 – Springfield, IL

Juliann’s 10th and final County Fair (at the same time as the National Sale) kept us from coming in 2015.  Hope to be back next year!

We did take the opportunity, in conjunction with Mike and Karen Elsbury & Family, Greenfield, IN, to purchase the 2015 National Sale Champion Ram (Lot 302) from Daniels Oxfords, IL.  He was Senior Champion Ram coming out of the fall ram lamb class.  We are excited about his tremendous length, uniform width and squareness of top, rib shape, high tail set, light color, great bone and excellent feet and legs.  His RR rating doesn’t hurt either!  We believe he’ll be a perfect mating to our “Gus” daughters improving upon their already solid Oxford traits.
